John Hatch in workshop

For 25 years, I have been working for clients throughout the South West, in London and also the Home Counties to provide bespoke interior solutions and soft furnishings.

Over the years I have continued to hone my crafts and skills… learning to make soft furnishings, traditional and modern upholstery and much more. Learning never stops…When you design a scheme, you need to understand how a fabric will work, drape, and its suitability to perform as curtains or upholstery.

I have been lucky enough to train with some of most talented & creative people from KLC School of Design in London to more recently Anthony Devine at Ministry of Upholstery in Manchester (from BBC1’s “Money for Nothing”.)

Taste and style are individual. Each project presents its own challenges and interpreting a client’s requirements, taste and style requires understanding, creativity and knowledge. Utilising my experience (and a little of my therapeutic training), I work with clients in a suitably calm, professional and friendly manner to implement solutions to their project needs and creating the scheme that reflects both them and their home. Clients return time and time again, and indeed some have become great friends over the years.

My workshop and show space (my home!) is in East Devon, just outside Honiton in the village of Combe Raleigh. You are welcome to pop by and chat over a project you have in mind, come and view my work, or browse pattern books with assistance – please ring in advance to ensure I am here, sometimes I am delivering or visiting clients.

I look forward to working with you.

I have many suppliers, but some of my favourites are:
