Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to the use of and orders placed on the www.johnhatch.co.uk website. By placing an order with John Hatch Upholstery & Interiors it will be deemed that you have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.


To place an order you must provide your name, address, email address and a contact telephone number. I take payment in full at the time of confirmation. I ask for a contact telephone number so you can contacted if there is an issue with your order. In some cases I may pass these contact details on to a delivery company in order to arrange delivery.  You must accept delivery insurance with international orders. Your order confirmation will include a unique order number, please quote this number in correspondence with us relating to the order. I reserve the right to reject an order at any time.

I regret that I am unable to fulfil international orders currently.

If a specific delivery date is requested, or an order is required urgently, please let me know as soon as possible. This cannot be guaranteed, but I will try my best to assist you.

Delivery times for items purchased through the website is approx. 7-10 days. All bespoke items have a lead time of 4-7 weeks, but you will be advised at the point of confirmation. I will keep you informed as your order status changes and when your order has been dispatched.


Should you wish to cancel an order from my online shop, please do so within 24hours of confirmation. I regret that I cannot accept cancellations after this period.

Bespoke items ordered via the website cannot be cancelled once they have been confirmed because these are made to order.

All items are handmade with great care and I hope you like them. However, if for any reason you are unhappy with your item please return it, in its original packaging, unused and unopened within 14 days of receipt for a refund or exchange. After this time, I regret that I cannot accept returns, offer refunds or exchange.

If you are returning any goods please retain your proof of postage as I cannot be held responsible for any goods lost in transit without proof of sending. Please contact me with your order number if you are returning any items so I know when to expect them.

No refunds are offered on sale items.

A refund will only be given once the item is returned and inspected to ensure it is in a resalable condition. If approved, a refund will be released immediately. Please be aware that the cost of delivery & return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Bespoke items that are hand made to order cannot be returned. If the product is believed to be faulty then I will refund you at my discretion after inspection of the furniture. Please note that you must report any damage within two days of receiving the item(s) or I cannot accept any responsibility and will not be able to process a refund. This does not affect your ‘Statutory Rights.’ All returns must be sent back to me in the original packaging, please ensure they are packaged securely and sufficiently to withstand delivery.

Prices & Payment:
All prices on the website are in Pounds Sterling (£ GBP) and include VAT. Shipping costs will be displayed at checkout and are in addition to the price of the item.

Payment for all goods must be made up front by credit or debit card at the time of ordering. If you wish to pay by BACS, please contact me first. so that an invoice can be issued with bank details shown clearly. To be eligible to purchase products from the John Hatch Upholstery & Interiors website you must:

Provide your full name, phone number, e-mail address, payment details and other requested information
Be over 18 years of age
Provide a valid delivery address within the regions we deliver. Please note that PO box numbers, hotels and accommodation addresses are not acceptable.

doesOrders can be processed directly though this website. John Hatch Upholstery & Interiors processes card payments securely via third party payment systems Stripe and PayPal. All transactions are processed using a secure server. John Hatch does not hold any customer card details from online transactions and I will never pass your details on to any other parties.

Promotional Codes:

Promotional codes can be used on my website checkout only. Only one offer code at a time can be used. Sale items are excluded from offers.


All products are sold subject to the specific product description. All reasonable care is taken by John Hatch Upholstery & Interiors to ensure the product details and descriptions are accurate when they are entered on to the system. Some products may be photographed or shown with additional props; these are not included in the sale of the product. Please refer to product description for relevant information.

Every care has been taken to ensure that descriptions, measurements, colours and prices are correct. We reserve the right to amend prices in the event of a change supplier prices. Please note that there may be some variation in the colour of goods shown on the website due to the limitations of photographic and web processes and I cannot be held responsible for any variations in colour that may arise caused by your browser or computer software. If you are concerned about the colour of a particular item and would like a fabric sample before purchasing, please contact me and I will be happy to oblige.

Limitation of Liability

My liability to you under these terms and conditions will not exceed the total value of the order. Neither shall I be responsible for loss of income, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, or any waste of time. I will not be liable for any defect in the goods arising from: fair wear and tear; sun fading; wilful damage; accident; negligence by you or any third party; your using the goods in a way that I or the manufacturers do not recommend; your failing to follow the manufacturer’s and/or my instructions; or from any alteration or repair you carry out without my prior written approval. I accept no liability for any offence you may suffer as a result of the goods as you are deemed to have satisfied yourself of the nature and type of goods to be purchased before placing an order with me.

Events Beyond Our Control:

I cannot be held liable if events that are beyond my control or affect my ability to meet these terms. I will make all reasonable efforts to deliver my service, but I may extend our delivery times in these circumstances. Such events include (but not limited to) industrial, civil, military or terror action, fire, natural disaster, interruption of transport or communication networks, and failure by my suppliers to supply the goods to me. If I have been unable to overcome such an event within 6 weeks I am entitled to cancel your order providing a full refund and without any further penalty.


You may not transfer any of your rights or obligations under these terms to another person without my prior written consent, which I will not withhold unreasonably. I can transfer all or any of my rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, but this will not affect your rights under these terms.


The contract between John Hatch Upholstery & Interiors and my clients and these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute arising under them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Fire regulations:

I work closely with my suppliers to ensure that all of our products comply with fire regulations for Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988.


All copy, photographs, graphics, logos, illustrations and any text used in conjunction with any media from John Hatch Upholstery & Interiors, in particular the contents of this website, are subject to copyright. Any unauthorised copying will constitute an infringement of copyright.

I reserve the right to amend or withdraw these terms at any time as I see fit.
